We’re honored to share that our studio has joined the Design Advisory Council at Hubbardton Forge—a partnership rooted in collaboration, not just recognition. This council brings together designers who actively shape the way products are experienced in real spaces, creating a meaningful dialogue between design vision and craftsmanship. It’s an opportunity to contribute to a process that values insight, intention, and the realities of how design lives day to day. We’re so proud to be part of it.

Design That’s Felt, Not Just Seen

Known for their hand-forged lighting made in Vermont, Hubbardton Forge has long been a leader in marrying artisanal techniques with modern innovation, creating pieces that feel both enduring and forward-thinking.

At McKeithan Design Studio, our work has always been rooted in a similar philosophy. Founded by Kurt McKeithan, the studio is guided by a belief that great design is not only seen, but felt. With over two decades of experience, Kurt has built a practice defined by thoughtful layering, quiet confidence, and spaces that feel collected over time—never forced, always personal.

A Foundation in Craftsmanship

Kurt’s perspective was shaped early through years spent living in Paris and London, where an appreciation for proportion, restraint, and craftsmanship became second nature. His formal training at Otis College of Art and Design, followed by his work with Leif, further deepened his understanding of materiality, construction, and the enduring value of well-made design.

Since founding the studio in Nashville, Kurt and his team have approached each project as a collaboration—listening first, then translating each client’s story into spaces that are both elevated and deeply livable.

Why We Love Hubbardton Forge

When asked about his use of Hubbardton Forge products, Kurt shared "I chose HF for their hand-crafted quality and thoughtful design, with the intention that each fixture feels purposeful and fits seamlessly within the overall vision of the space."

It’s this commitment to intentional, timeless design that makes our partnership with Hubbardton Forge especially meaningful. Through the Design Advisory Council, we look forward to contributing to a process that values real-world insight—helping shape not only how products are designed, but how they are experienced, specified, and lived with every day.
